Biographical History

Katherine Danceney (formerly Cohen) is the daughter of Marika Cohen née Löwy and John Cohen. Marika came from a middle class Jewish family in Sombor, Vojvodina, Serbia. She came to Great Britain in 1939 and she married a John Cohen, who became a professor in psychology at Manchester University (1952-1977). her brother Andrew (Andrija) ended up in Bergen Belsen, about which he wrote an account (2067/1). Her mother, Ella, along with other family members did not survive the war.
