Biographical History

In effect up to 1942/ 1943 questions relating to persecuted Jews and political detainees were handled by different services within ICRC: Services Nationaux de l'Agence Centrale des Prisonniers de Guerre (ACPG); Service Watson; Services des Familles Dispersés; Services Civils internés divers (CID); Division de Secours, etc. From 1942 the Division PIC was charged, amongst other things, with dealing with the principal issues affecting victims of racial and political persecution. It continued up to the immediate post war period.
