Amtsgericht (District Court) of Teplice
Extent and Medium
19,36 linear meters
Acquisition
The fonds was originally stored in the court building in Teplice where appraisals were continuously carried out by the archives. After 1960, the civil files were transported to the regional court registry in Bilina from where they were taken over by the archives in 1967, and the criminal records followed in 1968. In 1969, the fonds was arranged.
Scope and Content
The fonds includes documents of the court functioning in the territory of the judicial district of Teplice in 1938-1945. Jewish issues are not expressly mentioned in finding aids but they can be expected in the following sources: civil disputes 1939-1940 (inv. No. 3-6), forced administration of property 1939-1943 (inv. No. 13-15), bankruptcies 1939- 1941 (inv. No. 19), private lawsuits 1938-1944 (inv. No. 20-24), and minor offenses 1938-1943 (inv. No. 40-42).
System of Arrangement
Only one official book, and no auxiliary books, has been preserved in the fonds. There are no personnel, general or collecting files, either. A substantial part of the fonds includes the judicial agenda, civil files selected as an example, and complete criminal files. They are divided according to individual registers into 15 groups and the files have marks of the departments that handled them.
