Acquisition
The documents of the Amtsgericht (District Court) in Hostouň were stored in the court building in Hostouň. After the demise of this judicial occupation authority, the documents were taken over by the renewed District Court in Hostouň. Its successor, the People's Court in Domažlice, gave them to the State Archives in Plzeň in 1960, where the material was arranged. The Hostouň Amtsgericht archival fonds was transferred to the Domažlice State District Archives in 1999.
Scope and Content
The fonds contains archival materials from the lowest instance of judicial administration in the annexed border region in 1938–1945. In the library requests from 1940 it is possible to trace archival materials documenting the dissolution of the Jewish Religious Community in Mutěnín and the entrusting of its property to the care of the Aufbaufond (box 74), as well as documents attesting to the transfer of Jewish assets to the municipality in 1940 (box 76).
System of Arrangement
During the procession the archival materials were divided up into registry finding aidand files. Registry finding aidswere further divided into aids of the Amtsgericht and aids of the inheritance court. The files were further broken down into files for the Amtsgericht and files for the inheritance court. The Amtsgericht files comprise administrative files, civil dispute files, criminal files, library files and other non-dispute files. The inheritance court files represent files on the cadastre.
