Scope and Content
This series consists of audiovisual recordings created and maintained by the Hon. Marcel Prud'homme, which document his parliamentary career. The series includes mainly recorded broadcasts in which Prud'homme is speaking or giving an interview either in Parliament or at a broadcasting station.
The recordings include Senate debates on various issues, notably Palestine; Prud'homme's being called to the Senate; career retrospectives; comments on current political events; interviews; and talk shows and call-in shows, especially with Quebec hosts Gilles Proulx, Jean LaPierre, and Michael Jasmin. In these recordings, Prud'homme gives his thoughts on various topics including his career, Palestine, multiculturalism, Quebec and Quebec sovereignty, Canadian Federalism, various notable Canadian politicians, Greek-Canadians in St.-Denis, same-sex marriage, the Anti-terrorism Act, the Canadian War Museum and the construction of a Holocaust Memorial Building.
Much of the video footage comes from the Senate of Canada. Other video and sound recordings were made by CBC / Radio Canada and local broadcasting stations.
