Scope and Content

The sub-series consists of records related to the design and production of the following 1995 philatelic issues:

Masterpieces of Canadian Art (Alfred Pellan) - 8 (12 Apr.), Canadian Flag (1 May), Fortress of Louisbourg (5 May), Historic Land Vehicles - 3 (26 May), Canada Day: Group of Seven (29 Jun.), Manitoba (14 Jul.), Fruit Trees (31 Jul.), Queen Elizabeth II (31 Jul.), Migratory Wildlife (15 Aug.), The Arctic (15 Sept.), United Nations, 1945-1995 (24 Oct.), Christmas (2 Nov.), La Francophonie (6 Nov.), The Holocaust (9 Nov.).

Sub-series also consists of a sketchbook of design submissions for La Francophonie stamp by Alain Leduc and a painting submitted by John Martin for the Arctic stamp but was not accepted. Also contains art submissions by Alexander Alter for Arctic stamp and other related design material.
