Scope and Content
Fonds consists of office files, photographs, sound recordings, posters, and other records created, accumulated, and used by the Jewish Labour Committee of Canada and its successive national directors, including material relating to the following: meetings, finances and correspondence of the JLC; regional offices in Montreal, Toronto and Winnipeg; correspondence with labour and government; printed materials; and JLC human rights and labour committees across Canada.
The photographs in the fonds depict the activities of the Jewish Labour Committee in Montreal and Ottawa, 1941-1970. Sound recordings in the fonds consist of the sound tracks from audio-visual documentaries on racism, immigration, and the story of organized labour in the United States.
