Biographical History
Rosine De Dijn was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1941. She graduated in communication science after which she worked as a freelance journalist for the Belgian broadcasting network and for various Flemish newspapers and magazines. In 1966 she moved to Germany, where, until 1970, she worked as a scriptwriter and program maker for the Saarland broadcasting company in the Saarbrücken area. She then moved to the Cologne area, where she combined her job as a correspondent and a television producer for the Flemish broadcasting network, with her assignment with the Dutch editorial board of Deutschlandfunk and her work for Flemish newspapers and magazines. Until 1987, Rosine De Dijn managed ‘Kijk op Duitsland’, the Dutch-language editions of the German Federal Press Bureau. Rosine De Dijn wrote numerous contributions and reports on Belgium for German newspapers and magazines, including on the Jewish community in Antwerp, in addition to contributions on culture, tourism and architecture. She published acclaimed books, on both the Second World War and on other historical topics. In her work she combines general history with the stories of known and unknown individuals.
