    Collection of materials relating to the Olympic Games in Berlin 1936 collected during a visit to Berlin in summer 1936. Included in the collection are: tickets, street maps, tourist guides, advertising from the famous warehouse 'Karstadt' at Hermannplatz (which was new and is an example for the modern architecture and modern life at that time). Includes a faksimile street map of Berlin in the 1930s. Newspaper "Der Arbeitsmann, August 1, 1936, 2 Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung, poster from Kraft durch Freude organization.

    Archival footage in color from 01:10:19 to 01:27:32 shows amateur 16mm film footage of the Day of German Art filmed by Hans Feierabend in Munich in 1939. Includes scenes of Philipp Bouhler (in glasses) seated among Nazi dignitaries for viewing parade from 01:23:59 - 01:24:02 and 01:24:09 - 01:24:12, Albert Speer appears at 01:24:03, and Himmler and Goebbels.

  19. 1939 Deutsche Automobilclub map of Germany

    Consists of one large folded color map of Germany, entitled "Strassenzustandskarte von Deutschland," published by the Deutsche Automobil club in Munich in 1939. Includes areas which had been incorporated into or were controlled by Germany. The map is stamped as having been owned by Major John Hinkel (later Colonel), a paratrooper who fought in the Italian campaign during World War II.
