    This edited program serves to introduce and promote the goals of the Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies. It was first shown at the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors in 1983 to encourage survivors to come forward and give their testimony.

Originally produced for an inner-city school system and currently distributed by the Anti-Defamation League, this edited program has had a favorable response from both teachers and students, particularly at the ninth grade level.

    Helen K., a survivor of the Warsaw ghetto, Majdanek, and Auschwitz relates her wartime experiences and describes her postwar reunion with her husband, whom she had married in the ghetto at the age of sixteen. She emphasizes her determination to survive as an act of defiance against Hitler, a decision she reached when her younger brother died in her arms in the cattle car en route to Majdanek. The theme of resistance, both passive and active, recurs throughout her testimony.
