    The collection consists of documents, correspondence, and photographs relating to the experiences of Ruth Haneman and her family, who fled Nazi Germany for Shanghai and, after the war, emigrated to the United States, and of artifacts, correspondence, and photographs relating to the experiences of Edna Kwasznik and Samuel Eckstein in Russia and then the United States during the early 20th century.

    Consists of a black and white photograph, dated 1946, of the donor at a hospital in Jordenbad, Germany, peering out a window with two other women; and a black and white photograph, dated 1947 of the donor, four women and one man standing behind a table with stacks of bowls, washing the dishes. The latter was taken in Cyprus prior to the donor's emigration to Israel..

    With German intertitles. Scenes filmed by Lieutenant Edgar Forsberg of the 257 German Infantry following the collapse of the Polish army on October 6, 1939. Men working in a quarry, soldiers eating, exploring, playing soccer, training, testing weapons, examining a destroyed bridge, bouncing on broken traintracks.

  17. Cover for handmade portfolio of illustrations by Herbert Heyne and Erich Kästner

    Handmade book containing nine pages of illustrations sent by Herbert Heyne to Walter Furst. The book was a gift from Heyne to Furst and was written with Erich Kästner in 1945. It features color illustrations by Heyne and offers a comical and critical depiction of National Socialism and Nazi militarism.

  18. Vera Salomon Hecht photographs

    Consists of photographs of the family of Vera Salomon, originally of Valea-lui-Mihai, Romania. Includes pre-war and wartime photographs of her father, Martin, and brother, Imri, and members of her extended family. The collection also includes wartime photographs of Hungarian forced laborers, including Vera's father, as well as her future husband, Francisc Hecht.
