  1. Internment Camp B70 plans

    Copies of plans of Internment Camp B70 (Camp Ripples) in Fredericton, New Brunswick (Canada). The donor's late father Walter Kohn, had been interned there.

  2. Nathan and Miriam Sadik papers

    The collection consists of documents relating to Polish Holocaust survivors Nathan and Miriam Sadik’s post-war experiences in Austria prior to immigration to the United States in 1948. Included are two copies of their marriage certificate, Miriam’s declaration of intention form, and a copy of Sadik’s membership card for The Mutual Aid Organization of Jewish Ex-Prisoners in Concentration Camps (l'Organization d'Aide Mutuelle d'Ex-Prisonniers Juifs de camps de Concentration) which lists Auschwitz and his prisoner number 76654.

    The collection documents the Holocaust-era experiences of Rita Oppenheimer Gelman, originally of Berlin, Germany, including her flight from Germany to Palestine in 1940. Included are postcards, photographs, and a small amount of documents. The postcards are primarily received by Rita’s maternal uncle Arno Lewenberg, who survived the Holocaust in Davos, Switzerland, from family members in Berlin. One postcard received from Jules Malinowski references Jules’s brother Adolf in Buchenwald.   6. Bernard Makover diary

    The collection includes a typewritten diary by Bernard Makover documenting his trip to Europe in 1934. During his trip he dictated his entries to his secretary, Julius Grossbart. In the diary Bernard describes his time aboard the SS Conte di Savoia to Italy, the train ride from Italy to Poland, the political situation in Poland, his time spent with his extended family, and his trip back to New York aboard the SS Rex. While in Poland he tried to help bring family members back to the United States with him, but was unsuccessful.

  9. Walter Eisenhuth photograph collection

    Consists of 16 photographs documenting scenes at Buchenwald shortly following liberation. The photographs are associated with the military service of Walter Eisenhuth, who served with an Army Engineer Maintenance Company. Includes images of piles of corpses; the burial of victims; survivors in their camp uniforms; scenes at various buildings aroud the camp site; and the hanging of a sign, in English, announcing a memorial observance for the victims of the camp.
