  1. Lavern A. Weiser papers

    Photographs of post-liberation Dachau, news clippings from 1945, and news account of U.S. Army veteran Lawrence Weiser, circa 1990s. Photos appear to be from Weiser. Also includes a cartoon map of Europe, showing path of 42nd Infantry Division (Rainbow Division) from landing at Marseille to Bavaria and Austria by V-E Day.

  3. Bergen-Belsen liberation photographs

    Consists of eight photographs taken by Royal Canadian Air Force photographer Stan Brocklebank at the concentration camp of Bergen-Belsen in spring 1945. The photographs show various buildings in the camp as well as both filled in and open mass graves.

    Material related to the experiences of author Samuel L. Shneiderman (donor's father). Includes genealogical records and biographical information; photographs; newspaper clippings; and writings including on the Holocaust and Warsaw ghetto, Israel soon after 1948, and Arthur Szyk.

    Contains a letter written by Izak and Pepi Altenhaus (donor's parents) in Belgium, stating that they were being transported. The letter was thrown from train and picked up and posted by someone else. Also includes a scrap of return address and note in envelope.

  8. Hilda Seftor memoir

    Consists of one memoir, 8 pages typewritten, regarding the wartime experiences of Hilda Seftor (born Hilda Cohen), originally of Scotland. Her mother was the president of the Refugee Children's Committee, and Hilda describes her memories of the kindertransport children who lived with her family and of life in wartime Scotland.

  9. Fekete collection

    Collection of ceramic decorations made by Béla Fekete and Éva Barta in their ceramics workshop. Béla Fekete, who was not Jewish, and his wife Éva Barta, who was Jewish, made these decorations by day and sold them to make a modest living. At night they forged identity papers with Béla creating the documents and Éva making the official looking stamps to go with them. Hundreds of people benefitted from their work, and in 2012 Béla Fekete was recognized as Righteous Among the Nations.

    Consists of 12 pre-war and wartime family and school photographs of the family of Edith Rottenstein, originally of Czechoslovakia. Those pictured include her siblings Vulvi, David, and Dwajri, her mother, and various members of the extended family.
