There are other papers covering such topics as political resistance to Nazism and plans for creating a free, democratic Germany. The material was collated and produced by an organisation called the Komitee ehemaliger politischer Gefangener.

    The collection consists of materials from the Jewish Chronicle’s library that deal with the defence against antisemitism. These include reports on antisemitic groups, individuals and incidents, as well as on the bodies that fought against them. There are letters to the Jewish Chronicle on defence, both from anti-fascist groups reporting occurrences of antisemitism, and from representatives of the far-right denying charges of anti-Jewish prejudice or exhibiting their antisemitism through hate mail.     This microfilm collection of correspondence between the Far Eastern Jewish Central Information Bureau (DALJEWCIB) and individuals and other Jewish organisations offers a valuable insight into the experiences of German and Austrian Jewish émigrés in the Far East. The personal accounts contain descriptions of the outward-bound voyage and of the climate and conditions in the host country, along with details on obtaining work and accommodation. Note that many of the letters are copies or extracts from originals. Some newsletters and newspapers are also included.

  11. Irma Petrasek: copy eyewitness account

    This collection contains the eyewitness account of Holocaust survivor Irma Petrasek describing her long journey through the labour and concentration camps of Nazi Germany. Irma Petrasek was deported to Theresienstadt (Terezin) concentration camp, labour and concentration camps in Estonia, Strutthof labour camp in Poland, a labour camp in Hamburg and Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. She describes the conditions during transport and in the camps, the fate of some of her fellow prisoners and the hardship she had to endure. Includes summary of her account in English.
