  1. Ines Jacobsohn. Collection

    This collection consists of: one photo of Ines Jacobsohn, deported from Drancy to Auschwitz-Birkenau via Transport 31 on 11 September 1942 ; letters and postcards written by Ines Jacobsohn during her internment at Rivesaltes to her mother and siblings in France and Switzerland ; postcard thrown out of the deportation train by Ines Jacobsohn ; a letter from the Aude prefecture confirming the deportation of Ines Jacobsohn.

  2. Josef Blitz. Collection

    This collection contains digitised copies of birth certificates, xerox of documents provided by the Auschwitz State Museum concerning Josef Blitz, certificates of repatriation (with pictures of Josef Blitz) and class pictures taken at Jesode Hatorah in Antwerp.

  3. Series of drawings "Life at the Dossin barracks". Collection

    This collection contains, in colour and black-and-white, six sketches, one painting and 11 ‘educational’ caricature drawings informing the Jewish staff at the Dossin barracks about daily life and procedures at the camp. This art was created by the Jewish artist inmates of the 'Malerstube' (painters workshop), among whom Gyorgy Bekeffi, Irene Spicker-Awret, August (Alexandre) Polak and Kopel Simelovitz.

  4. Information bulletin regarding non-Belgian residents of the Zonhoven municipality. Collection

    12 information bulletins on 18 Jews and 1 French national, expelled from Antwerp to the Zonhoven municipality in the Limburg province in January-February 1941 ; one postwar letter addressed by Isaac Hausner to the Zonhoven municipality, requesting a copy of his information bulletin. Each form contains : surname, first names, date and place of birth, nationality, profession, date and location of marriage, names of the parents, legal address abroad, date of arrival in Belgium, subsequent addresses in Belgium, legal documents and financial situation.

  5. Schmidt-Kolinski family. Collection

    Letters and postcards sent by nuns of the Institut Enfant Jésus in Ciney to Rosa Kolinski, the mother of hidden children Armand Schmidt and Rachel Schmidt. Pictures of Armand Schmidt as a hidden child at the Institut Enfant Jésus, photos of the nuns and the monastery, and of Armand Schmidt with family members on vacation after the war.

  6. Karwasser-Higierowicz family. Collection.

    This collection contains Srul Karwasser and Chaja Higierowicz's membership cards of "Association des Anciens Detenus de Malines" (Association of former detainees of the Dossin barracks) ; two postwar ID cards with portraits of Srul Karwasser and his wife Chaja Higierowicz ; two pictures of an unidentified child, presumably their daughter Ida Zylvia Karwasser.

  8. Johannes Brans and Bertha Mertens. Collection.

    This collection contains a copy of the speeches regarding the rescue activities of Johannes Brans and Bertha Mertens (and of the following Belgian rescuers who were honored on the same day : Charles and Alida Pontus, Marie Suymens, Anne-Marie Suymens, Jean-François and Florentine Suymens, Philippe and Marie-Thérèse Culot); copies of five certificates signed by the Belgian state regarding the resistance activities of Johannes Brans and his wife Bertha Mertens; proclamation of recognition by the embassy of Israel and Yad Vashem.

  9. Schiff and Fischler families. Collection.

    This collection contains digital copies of portraits of Mojzesz Schiff and his wife Rywa Templer; Wolf Fischler and Schenka Fischler (parents of Sonia (Sosia) Fischler, wife of Tobias Schiff); birth and death certificates; a Schiff family tree (pedigree).

  10. Royaume de Belgique - Album photographique de Membres des services de Police allemands et de suspects de Crimes de Guerre. Collection

    This item contains lists and portraits, when available, of German staff members and Belgian collaborators working for the Sicherheitspolizei und Sicherheitsdienst (Sipo-SD) and the Geheime Feldpolizei (GFP) in Brussels. The lists consist of the name and place and/or date of birth of a suspect, and his or her position in the organisation.

  11. Kluizen - Coffres-forts. Collection

    This collection consists of the bank vaults which were not claimed by their original owners post-war. The owners were both Jewish and non-Jewish war victims or refugees who did not return to Belgium. The vaults do not contain any valuables, but documents including securities and personal documents, family photos, and objects such as cutlery, photo cameras and tableware. This collection is not accessible to third parties. Relatives who might be entitled to the content of one of the vaults are requested to contact archives@kazernedossin.eu

    This collection contains a photo of Joseph Sadowski and Ida Brawerman, parents of the donor ; a postwar testimony from a fellow prisoner of Ida Brawerman regarding her last sighting in the Beendorf concentration camp ; an administrative document regarding German postwar payments to the Sadowski family ; a letter from Anna Sadowski to “Sinterklaas”, asking for specific gifts at the traditional children's feast on 6 December, written on paper with the letterhead of her parents’ company ; photocopies of documents regarding the deportation of Joseph Sadowski and Ida Brawerman, the originals sto...

  13. Chemd-Baum family. Collection

    This collection contains six photos and two documents of Maurice Baum, of violonist Isaac Salomon Chamd and of the Chemd-Baum family.

  14. Johannes Frank. Collection

    The collection contains pages from the Frank family photo album ; pictures of the Frank family showing family life before, during and after the war ; pictures of Johannes Frank, Dossin barracks camp commander, in SS uniform, in Belgium and France ; pictures of Johannes Frank as a policeman ; newspaper articles regarding the Holocaust commemoration work done by Achim Frank.

  15. Alexandre Stein. Collection

    This collection contains correspondence between Alexandre Stein, the Anglo-Palestine Bank in Tel Aviv and the Barclays Bank in London regarding deposits and bank accounts ; three shares of the Erez Israel (Palestine) Foundation Fund ; a share in the Palestine Theater in Tel Aviv.

  16. Research by Nico Hamme on the Chateau de Bassines and the children hidden there. Collection

    This collection contains research files, compiled by Nico Hamme who, as a child, was hidden at the Chateau de Bassines near Havelange, Namur. Every file revolves around a child who was also hidden at the chateau or around one of the rescuers there. The files contain testimonies of the child or rescuer, correspondence between them and Nico Hamme, and in some cases photocopies of photos. This collection is only accessible at the Kazerne Dossin documentation center after a substantiated request.

  17. Nathan Goldman and Jenta Niechcicki. Collection

    Group picture of the children attending school at the catholic institute run by the Sisters of Mercy in Heverlee, where Nathan Goldman was hidden.

  18. Research by David Inowlocki on hidden children and their rescuers in Belgium. Collection

    This collection consists of 57 research files. Every file was carefully composed by David Inowlocki during his presidency of the Hidden Children Association Belgium (L’Enfant Caché). The files revolve around a hidden child or a rescuer, and contain photocopied documents and proposals in order to request Yad Vashem to award a rescuer the title of Righteous among the Nations.

    Testimony of Manousj (Sinti) woman Mathilda Pfaff, published in magazine "Wereldwijd" in 1988 ; notes provided by her relative Hendrik Bohets (only available at the Kazerne Dossin documentation center).
