    The collection consists of several classes of material, as described in the series descriptions below. While the CJC materials begin in 1919, Series Z, the documentation collection, contains material that precedes this date, a few items going back even as far as the earliest settlement of Jews in Canada in the late 18th century.

    Fonds consists of textual records, graphic materials, and artefacts relating to Louise Sorensen’s life in the Netherlands, some of which was spent in hiding. Many of the items are wartime records, including photographs and negatives, correspondence, paper currency, drawings, notice of registration, official and forged identity cards, and ration cards.     Fonds is comprised of correspondence, family records and photographs created and/or kept by members of the Pollák, Deneberger and Kiss family, a Jewish family living in Tápiószele, Hungary during the Second World War. Records document the family's separation, internment, hiding and well as pre- and post-war activities.

    Fonds is comprised of administrative and other records generated as a result of the activities of the Holocaust Memorial Committee of the VHCS. The Holocaust Memorial Committee managed the building of a Holocaust memorial monument and an accompanying commemorative book project.   18. Diary kept by Ethel Ostry [textual record]

    Item is a bound photocopy (230 pages) of a diary kept by Ethel Ostry, welfare officer with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Agency (U.N.R.R.A.) in Europe, 1945-1947. The diary was transcribed, edited and copied by her sister, Elizabeth O. Fisher in 1978. It was titled After the Holocaust: My Work with U.N.R.R.A. and originally titled Where is My Family?.
