    The collection contains pre-war and wartime correspondence between members of the Lilienthal family of Wiesbaden, Germany. Pre-war correspondence includes letters sent to Saul Lilienthal, a cantor and teacher, from when he was living in Posen (present-day Poznan, Poland); Freiburg, Germany; and Wiesbaden; as well as general family correspondence. Wartime correspondence primarily contains letters sent to Felix Lilienthal, who immigrated to Treinta y Tres and then to Montevideo, Uruguay in 1938.     The Rezső Rudolf Kasztner collection comprises letters, documents, certificates and protocols given to Holocaust researcher Dov Dinur by the Kasztner family that document Kasztner’s activities as a member of the "Vaad Ha-Ezrah veha-Hatzalah be-Budapest " (Aid and Rescue Committee of Budapest). Letters, reports, and an aide mémoire from July-August 1944 pertain to the early stages of negotiations Kasztner conducted with Adolf Eichmann, Kurt Becher, Hermann Krumey, and other senior Nazi leaders on behalf of the committee in an attempt to secure the liberation of hundreds of Hungarian Jews.     Records collected by Anny Latour, a doctor of philosophy, historian and author of a book on Jewish resistance: La Résistance juive en France, 1940-1944, Paris: Stock, 1970. The archives constitute testimonies and general correspondence collected by Anny Latour in the framework of the research and writing of her book about Jewish resistance in France. She donated her archives to the CDJC and disappeared. There was no trace of her to ask for authorization to use a testimony she recorded, or notes she took.

    The collection primarily consists of letters written by Jewish American soldier Jack Cherniss to his wife Shirley while he was serving in the United States Army during World War II. His frequent letters describe his training in the United States and his deployment overseas in December 1944. Significant letters include one from 11 January 1945 describing an altercation with an antisemitic fellow soldier, and his letter from 27 April 1945 contains his account of the Buchenwald concentration camp shortly after liberation. In addition to the three main labor camps of Nováky, Sereď, Vyhne, the collection also includes the card files for several smaller camps (commonly referred to as Pracovné stredisko pre Židov), as follows: Degeš, Tehelňa HSĽS Nitra (brick factory), Ilava, Kraľovany, Kostolná, Devínska Nová Ves, Vyhne, and Žilina.
