  1. Precious prints. Collection

    This collection contains precious prints such as pamphlets, posters, books and other types of publications published before 1950. The topics include pre-war Jewish life, anti-Semitism, ideologies of various political movements, biographies of camp survivors, commemoration of resistance movements, German organisations such as the SS, post-war trials and war crimes. The publications do not only focus on Belgium, but also include publications from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Czechoslovakia and the United States.

    1. File card system of paying members of the Union of former Jewish Deportees of Belgium registrating names, adresses and yearly donations (1979-1982). Besides Jewish survivors from Belgium also survivors from other countries living in Belgium and sympathisers are registered as member. 2. Typed manuscript of the CDJ history, probably written by A.     This collection consists of photocopied and original documents and photos including, documents on the Suchowolski and Sluszny families; letters sent by Suzanne Suchowolski to her brother Georges Suchowolski while in hiding; documents on the Suchowolski and Sluszny families photocopied from collections stored at the Archives Service for War Victims, ITS Bad Arolsen and Kazerne Dossin; documents regarding the Draily, Collignon and Jacobs-Van Dijck families, rescuers of Georges Suchowolski and Regina Sluszny, including documents regarding their recognition as Righteous among the Nations.

  6. Miscellaneous photos collected to create the Jewish Museum of Deportation and Resistance. Collection

    This collection consists of work copies of miscellaneous photos on the Holocaust in general and the Belgian case in particular, stored in dozens of institutes worldwide. The copies were entrusted to the Jewish Museum of Deportation and Resistance in 1994-1996, in order to create its permanent exhibition.

  8. Research by Marc Michiels on Transport XX. Collection

    This collection consists of two intertwined sections : (1) documents and photos regarding the annual commemoration of the attack against Transport XX in Boortmeerbeek, including the ceremonial administration and delivered speeches ; (2) research materials – largely copies of documents, testimonies and research articles – collected by Marc Michiels in preparation for his book on Transport XX. This collection is only accessible at the Kazerne Dossin documentation centre.

Letter from Jean TERFVE, Front de l'Indépendance secretary, thanking head of police BARY for false inscriptions in the registry office of Couillet of 9 persons hiding for the Germans. 30-11-1944.   11. Jacky Barkan. Collection

    This collection contains six articles from Belgian newspapers Het Volk, Het Nieuwsblad and De Gentenaar, covering the story of Jacky Barkan, a hidden child, in search for the De Meulemeester family that hid him in Sint-Kruis-Brugge. During his search, Jacky also discovered that Gabriel and Edouard Zimmerman and Henri Schlamowitsch were hidden by other members of the De Meulemeester family, living in Brussels.

    The collection contains pages from the Frank family photo album ; pictures of the Frank family showing family life before, during and after the war ; pictures of Johannes Frank, Dossin barracks camp commander, in SS uniform, in Belgium and France ; pictures of Johannes Frank as a policeman ; newspaper articles regarding the Holocaust commemoration work done by Achim Frank.

  13. Maison de la Miséricorde orphanage, Heverlee. Collection

    Digitised postcards of indoor and outdoor spaces at the House of Mercy (Maison de la Miséricorde/Huis der Barmhartigheid), an orphanage in Heverlee, where over 70 Jewish children were hidden by catholic nuns during the Second World War.

  14. Research by David Inowlocki on hidden children and their rescuers in Belgium. Collection

    This collection consists of 57 research files. Every file was carefully composed by David Inowlocki during his presidency of the Hidden Children Association Belgium (L’Enfant Caché). The files revolve around a hidden child or a rescuer, and contain photocopied documents and proposals in order to request Yad Vashem to award a rescuer the title of Righteous among the Nations.

  15. Information bulletin regarding non-Belgian residents of the Zonhoven municipality. Collection

    12 information bulletins on 18 Jews and 1 French national, expelled from Antwerp to the Zonhoven municipality in the Limburg province in January-February 1941 ; one postwar letter addressed by Isaac Hausner to the Zonhoven municipality, requesting a copy of his information bulletin. Each form contains : surname, first names, date and place of birth, nationality, profession, date and location of marriage, names of the parents, legal address abroad, date of arrival in Belgium, subsequent addresses in Belgium, legal documents and financial situation.

  19. Kluizen - Coffres-forts. Collection Bank vaults which were not claimed after the war. Collection

    This collection consists of the bank vaults which were not claimed by their original owners post-war. The owners were both Jewish and non-Jewish war victims or refugees who did not return to Belgium. The vaults do not contain any valuables, but documents including securities and personal documents, family photos, and objects such as cutlery, photo cameras and tableware. This collection is not accessible to third parties. Relatives who might be entitled to the content of one of the vaults are requested to contact archives@kazernedossin.eu

    This collection contains a photo of David Pelc, two yellow stars bought but never worn by David Pelc, two pre-war and three post-war photos of Sonia Hailstone (alias Aimée Cuypers and Sonia Anoutchin), four forms sent by David Pelc and his cousin Jacob Peltz to Sonia's address, and the envelope in which Sonia kept the documents.
