    ארכיון מחנה העקורים ברגן-בלזן על שם יוסף רוזנזפט ב-15 באפריל 1945 שחרר הצבא הבריטי את מחנה Bergen-Belsen. עם שחרורו היו במחנה כ-58 אלף ניצולים, ובשבועות הראשונים לאחר השחרור מתו כ-28 אלף מהם ממחלות ורעב. באתר הוקם מחנה עקורים והניצולים ששהו בו החלו מיד להתארגן, ויסדו את הוועד היהודי של המחנה בראשות יוסף רוזנזפט. הוועד על מחלקותיו השונות סיפק את צורכיהם הפיזיים והרוחניים של יושבי המחנה. פרט לוועד פעלו במחנה גם מוסדות וארגונים אחרים: בית חולים, משטרה, בית משפט, בתי ספר, ספריות, תאטרון ומוסדות תרבות וספורט. כמו כן, יצאו לאור עיתון ופרסומים אחרים במחנה. התיעוד באוסף זה נאסף בידי הדסה ויוסף רוזנ...

    There are 353 poems/songs in the collection, mostly in Yiddish. Most of the poems/songs were written by inmates of the camps and ghettos during the war, and some after the end of the war.
