  4. Israeli Police Investigations of Nazi Crimes: Documentation of the Israel Police unit assigned to investigate Nazi war crimes

    In the Record Group there are files prepared by the Israel Police unit assigned to investigate Nazi war crimes for use in Nazi war criminal trials. In the files there is documentation regarding criminals or locations where crimes were committed (such as camps) including protocols of testimonies, information collected by the police, and much administrative documentation regarding the investigations and the unit itself.

    ארכיון מחנה העקורים ברגן-בלזן על שם יוסף רוזנזפט ב-15 באפריל 1945 שחרר הצבא הבריטי את מחנה Bergen-Belsen. עם שחרורו היו במחנה כ-58 אלף ניצולים, ובשבועות הראשונים לאחר השחרור מתו כ-28 אלף מהם ממחלות ורעב. באתר הוקם מחנה עקורים והניצולים ששהו בו החלו מיד להתארגן, ויסדו את הוועד היהודי של המחנה בראשות יוסף רוזנזפט. הוועד על מחלקותיו השונות סיפק את צורכיהם הפיזיים והרוחניים של יושבי המחנה. פרט לוועד פעלו במחנה גם מוסדות וארגונים אחרים: בית חולים, משטרה, בית משפט, בתי ספר, ספריות, תאטרון ומוסדות תרבות וספורט. כמו כן, יצאו לאור עיתון ופרסומים אחרים במחנה. התיעוד באוסף זה נאסף בידי הדסה ויוסף רוזנ...

  19. The Kurt Grossmann Archives: Documentation regarding Kurt Grossman's activities as an advisor to the Jewish Agency and documentation regarding reparations

    In the collection there is documentation primarily regarding the background to Grossmann's activities as a press officer after World War II, along with documentation regarding the negotiations conducted between Israel and Germany concerning the reparations. The documentation includes mainly German publications regarding German legislation concerning reparations and reports of Grossmann's trips to Germany. More than half the documentation consists of press clippings.

    This fonds contains 3 relevant files. File nr. 493-1 (dated 1921-1968) contains announcements, invitations, minutes of meetings, reports, press (incl. Folk un Arbet) and correspondence between Nathan Schwalb (for the Histadrut) and the Belgian Ministry of Public Works, concerning compensation for damages to the property of the League for Labour Palestine in Belgium, destroyed by the Nazis during World War II.
