  1. Documentation regarding the Holocaust from archives in France

    Most of the documentation is from collections of microfilm reels (with the exception of 31 photocopied files) from various organizations and offices in France, such as OSE (Oeuvre de Secours Aux Enfants - Society for Rescuing Children), the Consistoire Central des Israelites de France (Central Consistory of French Jews) and the Commissariat General aux Questions Juives (CGQJ- General Office for Jewish Affairs).

  2. Documentation regarding the Holocaust from provincial archives in Switzerland, 1930-1950

    The documentation is composed mainly of material received by Yad Vashem from the archives of cantons and Jewish communities in Switzerland. Documentation received from the Federal Archive of Switzerland and the State Archive of Lichtenstein is also included in the Record Group. There is also material from various institutions that dealt with Jewish refugees in Switzerland, personal files of thousands of Jewish refugees who escaped to Switzerland as well as the files of Jewish refugees who were deported from Switzerland across the border (especially in the area of Geneva).

  3. The Simon Brückheimer Collection regarding the Jewish communities in Bavaria and the Kristallnacht riots throughout Germany, 1904-1967

    The Collection contains information regarding the various communities in Bavaria which were affected by the Kristallnacht riots.

  4. The German Academy of Science: Lexicon regarding outstanding economists (not including Jews), 1930-1941

    This Collection contains pre-World War II files of the German Academy of Science in Munich, including documentation for a lexicon of outstanding German economists and industrialists (Deutsche Wirtschfsfuehrer), since 1801 excluding Jews. The files contain correspondence about the project and the files of the project itself as well as an information page with a few lines regarding each person, arranged alphabetically.

  5. Documentation from trials conducted against war criminals that were held in Austria after the war

    The main body of the Record Group consists of verdicts and short items regarding trials conducted in the People's Courts after the war. Additionally, in the Record Group there is much documentation from the trial of Ernst Lerch and others, commanders of the SS-und Polizeifuehrer (SSPF -SS and police commanders) in Lublin including important information regarding the mass murder of the European Jews in the area.

  6. Office of Eliezer Kaplan.

    This fonds contains 7 relevant files. We find files concerning: trade relations between Belgium and the Netherlands (file S53/1283; years 1939-1947), the situation in Belgium from 1944 to 1945 (S53/1588), actions to help the Jews in Belgium (S53/1610; 1944), the Zionist Federation in Belgium (S53/482; 1946), Hamagbit Hameuhedet (United Jewish Appeal?) in Belgium (S53/1437; 1947-1948) and the Belgian Congo (S53/1444; 1948) and finally a file concerning fundraising appeals in Belgium (S53/423; 1940).

  7. The Kurt Grossmann Archives: Documentation regarding Kurt Grossman's activities as an advisor to the Jewish Agency and documentation regarding reparations

    In the collection there is documentation primarily regarding the background to Grossmann's activities as a press officer after World War II, along with documentation regarding the negotiations conducted between Israel and Germany concerning the reparations. The documentation includes mainly German publications regarding German legislation concerning reparations and reports of Grossmann's trips to Germany. More than half the documentation consists of press clippings.

  8. Israeli Police Investigations of Nazi Crimes: Documentation of the Israel Police unit assigned to investigate Nazi war crimes

    In the Record Group there are files prepared by the Israel Police unit assigned to investigate Nazi war crimes for use in Nazi war criminal trials. In the files there is documentation regarding criminals or locations where crimes were committed (such as camps) including protocols of testimonies, information collected by the police, and much administrative documentation regarding the investigations and the unit itself.

  9. The Gideon Hausner Collection: The prosecutor in the Eichmann Trial, 1960-1965

    In the Record Group there is a collection submitted to Yad Vashem by Gideon Hausner, the prosecutor in the Eichmann Trial. The Record Group includes protocols from the Eichmann Trial, files of documentation gathered by the prosecution in preparation for and during the trial, correspondence between the prosecution and various bodies, as well as newspaper clippings regarding the trial. The Record Group also includes a detailed psychological opinion regarding Eichmann.

    אוסף זיכרונות שכתבו ניצולים במסגרת תחרות שערך יד ושם ב-1957 ב-1957 ערכה הנהלת יד ושם תחרות חיבורים, שבמסגרתה הוטל על המשתתפים לכתוב על חוויותיהם האישיות בתקופת השואה. החטיבה כוללת 200 חיבורים.

  11. British OSE (Oeuvre de Secours aux Enfants) Society, Old Photographs.

    This fonds contains old photographs of the British OSE, including a few pictures pertaining to Belgium. We firstly note 3 undated files with photographs titled “Belgium. Tent camp”: files 15/001, 15/002 and 15/003. Two undated files are described as “Belgium. Medical treatment”; see 15/004 and 15/005.

  12. The Benno Kaufmann Collection - Documentation of the Aid Council for Jewish Refugees from Germany, Basel, 1939-1947

    Correspondence of Benno Kaufmann from Basel, Switzerland, regarding aid to Jewish refugees from Germany, 1939-1947. The collection contains personal letters belonging to the persecuted detainees in the camps in France, such as the Gurs camp.

  13. Documentation of the Polish Jewish Refugee Fund in Geneva, 1933-1940

    The collection contains correspondence of Joseph Thon and Theodor Grubner, representatives of the Polish Jewish Refugee Fund in Geneva. There are also personal letters from relatives of Jews in Poland to the Polish Jews in Geneva, reports regarding the situation of the Jews in Poland and lists of Jews from Poland.

  14. The Osoby Collection: Nazi documentation from the Special Archive (Osoby) in the Soviet Union

    In the Record Groupe there is documentation from important archives in Germany, documentation confiscated by the Germans from countries they occupied during the war, documentation from Jewish archives in and outside of Germany confiscated by the Germans and more.

  15. Gruenbaum, Yitzhak.

    This fonds contains 5 files pertaining to Belgium. It includes notably incoming letters from the newspaper Hatikwah (file A127/218; year 1926), letters concerning his trip to i.a. Brussels (A127/824; 1931), letters from the time of Gruenbaums visit to Belgium (A127/622; 1926) and, lastly, card indexes of Yizhak Gruenbaum pertaining to rescue attempts and the situation of the Jews in various countries, including Belgium – see A127/1865 and A127/1873 (1939-1940).

  16. Istanbul Records of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee 1937-1949.

    There is a file on Belgium (1945)(folder nr. IS.210) in “Subcollection: Countries and Regions”. It contains correspondence, mostly concerning requests for information on relatives, and notifications of families and friends of persons deported from Belgium.

  17. Evidentiary Material in preparation for the Eichmann Trial

    The Collection contains evidentiary material in preparation for the Eichmann Trial, including transcripts of testimonies given to the Israel police, and copies of documents from the Holocaust period, 1933-1961

  18. Menachem Kaufmann Collection: Documentation regarding Communities in Germany, mainly in Hessen

    The files include information regarding the Jewish communities,mainly in the Hessen area, (including Jewish community-owned property) and the lives of the Jews.
