  1. Kurt Waldheim: Copy documents re war time activities

    The bulk of this collection consists of photocopies of documents with their translations which record Waldheim's activities not only in connection with the above events but also with other war crimes committed by the Nazis in the Balkans and Greece (the latter presumably was insufficient to implicate Waldheim). Many of the documents within the bundles have a translation attached and often a covering note explaining certain words or omissions.A letter at 646/12 by one of the researchers for the project explains the significance of the first 50 documents in the collection

    This collection consists of correspondence and a family tree of the descendants of the Jewish couple Gitel and Isaac Coppel, whose family has had interconnected German and British relations since 1807 when their eldest son was sent to England to prevent his forced enrolment in Napoleon's armies for the Russian campaign.Papers including translations of Hebrew gravestone inscriptions of Isaac Coppel, Bräune Coppel (Isaac's mother) and Gitel Coppel who were buried at the Old Jewish Cemetery in Hanover (Lower Saxony).

Most of the material focuses on the period of persecution. Some of the items in the collection are not testimonies per se but contemporary documents which were donated and later subsumed into this collection. These latter have nonetheless been catalogued and indexed in the same way as the testimonies.
