  1. Lagergedichte von J.S. in KLB. Collection

    The sketchbook entitled 'Lagergedichte von J.S. in KLB' contains small drawings and rhymes created by Roma inmate Johann (Mongo) Stojka. The booklet’s contents depict everyday life at the Buchenwald concentration camp. The topics covered include the procedure upon arrival of new prisoners, food, labour performed by the prisoners, the role of the Blockälteste and members of the Lagerschutz in the camp, and the bombing of the camp by allied airplanes. Translations of the poem texts are provided by the Imperial War Museum.

    The Steinhardt-Safier family collection contains 28 photos showing the prewar Steinhardt and Safier family life : pictures taken on boat rides during vacations, wedding photos taken at a synagogue in Berlin, baby pictures of Harry Henri Steinhardt, family parties and Passover celebrations, and the Safier family at their bakery in Berlin. The collection also contains a post-war letter from the Belgian Ministry of Public Affairs confirming the deportation of the Steinhardt-Safier family and two family trees clarifying the ties between the Steinhardt and Safier families.

Each index card contains the address of a plundered home, the name of the Jewish resident, the date of the clearance and a file number referring to a more comprehensive file, which no longer exists today.

    The Transportlisten series consists of two parts : KD_00013_01 : The first part contains the carbon doubles of the original lists of all transports (Jews, Roma and Sinti) from the SS-Sammellager Mecheln (Dossin barracks) to Auschwitz-Birkenau, Buchenwald, Ravensbrück, Vittel and Bergen-Belsen.     This recording contains the exchange between 11 child survivors of the Holocaust during a zoom meeting held on 17 January 2021. All participants and their siblings were housed in Jewish and/or non-Jewish orphanages in Belgium during the war.
