    This collection contains six articles from Belgian newspapers Het Volk, Het Nieuwsblad and De Gentenaar, covering the story of Jacky Barkan, a hidden child, in search for the De Meulemeester family that hid him in Sint-Kruis-Brugge. During his search, Jacky also discovered that Gabriel and Edouard Zimmerman and Henri Schlamowitsch were hidden by other members of the De Meulemeester family, living in Brussels.

    This collection consists of four folders containing copies of historical documents on the persecution of the Jewish community and on the resistance in Jette. The documents include copies of items from the municipal archives of Jette, the Jewish Museum of Belgium, the Archives Service for War Victims, the State Archives of Belgium and Kazerne Dossin as well as information obtained by Jean-Paul Denis from family members of resistance fighters.

  16. Membership forms of the Vereeniging der Joden in België - Association des Juifs en Belgique. Series

    The collection "membership forms of the Association of Jews in Belgium" contains digitised copies of ca. 12,000 registration forms filled in by Jewish families in Belgium, which became members of this organisation as was required after the decree of 25 November 1941. Each form consists of the names of every family member living under the same roof, their dates and places of birth, their date of immigration, their faith, their profession, the family address, the number of rooms in the house and the property owner.

  20. Research by Nico Hamme on the Chateau de Bassines and the children hidden there. Collection

    This collection contains research files, compiled by Nico Hamme who, as a child, was hidden at the Chateau de Bassines near Havelange, Namur. Every file revolves around a child who was also hidden at the chateau or around one of the rescuers there. The files contain testimonies of the child or rescuer, correspondence between them and Nico Hamme, and in some cases photocopies of photos. This collection is only accessible at the Kazerne Dossin documentation center after a substantiated request.
