Biographical History
Żychlin is a small town in Łódź province in the county of Kutno. In 1921 2,701 Jews lived there, making up 40% of the total population. During WW II, in Septemer 1939, Żychlin was occupied by the German army. In March 1942, the Germans liquidated the ghetto sending over 3,000 Jews to Krośniewice and then to the death camp in Chełmno on Ner (Kulmhof)

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
Source of acquisition is the Żydowski Instytut Historyczny im. Emanuela Ringelbluma. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the digitized collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in Jan. 2016.

Records of the Jewish community in Żychlin: lists of advance payments, lists of remittances paid for medical treatments, payment of shares to a communal fund, books of share payers and a list of community members.
