Original records. NS 12, located in the Bundesarchiv, Berlin, Germany. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's International Archives Project received the microfilm in Jan. 2004 through its mutual microfilm exchange program from Yad Vashem Archives.
Scope and Content
Contains selected records from the Hauptamt für Erzieher/Reichswaltung des Nationalsozialistischen Lehrerbundes (NSLB) (Reichs Administration of the National Socialist Teachers Union) - including materials related to the education of teachers; correspondence between the leaders and departments of the NSLB; correspondence between the NSLB and publishers, authors, etc., concerning various books, brochures, tracts, newspapers, plays, and other published materials, some of which concern Jews; activity reports; memoranda; reports; individual problem cases; "idea papers;" records relating to the development of teachers and school teaching plans; samples of printed materials relating to topics including Jews, religion, and racial science; and correspondence regarding membership of "non-Aryans" in the NSLB. The collection also includes materials pertaining to the treatment of Jewish teachers and students.
