Acquisition
Source of acquisition is the State Archives of Film, Video & Photo Records in Russia(Rossiiskii gosudarstvennyi arkhiv kinofotodokumentov, RGAKFD). The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection in 1989.
Scope and Content
Contains 57 photographs and 11 film negatives depicting Nazi atrocities in the Soviet Union and Europe, war crimes, liberation of concentration camps by the Red Army, corpses of Soviet prisoners of war, Russians and other people tortured by German solders; Judicial proceedings in the trial of the German criminals.
System of Arrangement
Arranged in two series: 1. Photographs relating to Nazi atrocities in the Soviet Union and Europe; 2. Film negatives relating to Nazi atrocities in the Soviet Union. Organization is chronological.
