Acquisition
Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
Source of acquisition is the Derz︠h︡avnyĭ arkhiv Poltavsʹkoï oblasti (Poltava Oblast Archives). Records created by the Ukrainian Extraordinary State Commission to Investigate German-Fascist crimes committed on Soviet territory, reviewed by Soviet security agencies and transferred to the Poltava Oblast Archives at an unknown date. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives International Archives Project in June 2001.
Scope and Content
Contains photocopied records excerpted from the Poltava State Oblast Archive Fonds 1792/6/2; 1876/8/68/81/91/98/104; 3388/1/688, 1601a, 1624; 4085/3/227b. Contains executive commission depositions pertaining to German atrocities committed during the occupation of Poltava (1941-1943); lists of inhabitants shot by the Germans; reports on the execution of Soviet POWs and local populations (including Jews) in Zolontonosha, Kremenchug, Poltava, Khorol, Mirgorod, Kobeliaki, and other cities; and depositions on the treatment of POWs by the Germans.
