Acquisition
Source of acquisition is the Public Record Office (National Archives of Great Britain). The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the International Program Division in July 2001.
Scope and Content
Includes correspondence relating to British policy in Palestine, e.g., discussions with the Jewish Agency, other Jewish organizations, and individuals as well as world reaction to policy; petitions; Arab opposition and disturbances; Jewish immigration issues, granting visas, settlements, and illegal immigration; logistical/administrative concerns relating to public works, police, railways, and other infrastructure concerns; financial issues in Palestine; the Royal Commission on Palestine, Partition Commission, Jordan Valley Authority, and implementation of the United Nations Organizations Decision.
