Acquisition
From the Centre de Documentation Juive Contemporaine. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the microfilm via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Programs Division in 1996.
Scope and Content
Consists of records from the Contemporary Jewish Documentation, Paris, relating to the operations of the Union Générale des Israélites de France. The collection contains records from the Archives of the Union Générale des Israélites de France (UGIF). The collection includes the files of Jewish social organizations integrated into UGIF by the Germans. Representative of the documents in the collection are correspondence between constituent elements of UGIF, reports, statistics, legal affidavits, and testimonies. The collection also includes records from Groupements de Travailleurs Étrangers (GTE), an organization concerned with foreign workers in France.
