Acquisition
The SS (Schutzstaffel) created the records during the administration of Auschwitz concentration camp. Państwowe Muzeum Oświęcim-Brzezinka filmed the records for the Museum Archives in 1993. The Archives received the microfilms in Jan. 1994.
Scope and Content
Contains personnel files of SS personnel assigned to Auschwitz concentration camp from 1941 to 1944; Sturmbann-, Standort-, and Kommandantur-Befehle (orders) issued at Auschwitz from 1941 to 1944; and a Zugangsliste for Jews entering Auschwitz from 12 March 1942 to 30 November 1943, Personnel files contain biographical and military service information for SS personnel. The Zugangsliste contains date of birth, place of origin, and occupation information for the persons listed.

Organized: Reels 1 - 10 contain personnel files of SS personnel at Auschwitz; Reels 11 and 12 contain Sturmbann-Befehle, Standort-Befehle, and Kommandantur-Befehle from Auschwitz; and Reel 11 contains Zugangsliste of Jews arriving in Auschwitz, Mar. 12, 1942 to Nov. 1943 Arrangement of personnel files is alphabetical; arrangement of various Befehle is chronological/numerical; arrangement of Zugangsliste is numerical by prisoner number
