Cite the Latvian Central State Historical Archive in Riga as custodian of the originals
Various command levels of the Wehrmacht, Einsatzgruppen, SD, and SIPO in Ostland, and the RSHA in Berlin, Germany, created the records during World War II. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives obtained photocopies from the Latvian Central State Historical Archive in Riga, Latvia, in March 1992.
Scope and Content
Contains photocopies of letters, memoranda, orders, directives, and various other documents relating to the organizational and operational structure of the Wehrmacht, SIPO, SS, SD, Einsatzgruppen A and B, Geheime Feldpolizei, Feldgendarmerie, Hilfspolizei, and Ordungspolizei in Latvia and the USSR. Of special interest is a copy of a letter, December 4, 1939, RSHA Amt II, concerning antisemitism and a pogrom.
