Source of acquisition is the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu (Institute of National Remembrance-Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation), Sygn. 880. The office of the Generalgouvernement in Kraków created the records from ca. 1939 to ca. 1945. After World War II, the records were deposited in the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej . The records were selected for filming and microfilmed during 1992 and 1993. United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the films in Apr. 1993.
