Acquisition
The materials were copied from original documents in the holdings of the Państwowe Muzeum Oświęcim-Brzezinka (State Museum of Auschwitz-Birkenau). Initially, all materials were deposited in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collections Division. At a later date, approximately 1,700 photographs of Auschwitz prisoners were removed and transferred to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Photo Archives. These photos were inventoried by Sybil Milton in 1987. The remaining materials, log books, and administrative records were transferred to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives on 23 Jan. 1991.
