The letters were written between the Joseph Mann family of Nurnberg, Germany, and the Mandelbaum family of Des Moines, Iowa, beginning in Nov. 1938 and ending in Mar. 1949. Copies of the original letters were made by Barbara Arum for donation to United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
