Participants of the 1981 International Liberators Conference wrote the testimonies in response to a call from the United States Holocaust Memorial Council for liberator testimonies in Oct. 1981. The United States Holocaust Memorial Council compiled the testimonies and later transferred to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives in Feb. 1992.
