Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
From the German Federal Archives, collection R 58. A portion of R 58 came from the East German Archives in Potsdam, where it was formerly collection 17.01/PSt 3, before it was moved to the German Federal Archives and added to R 58. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's International Archives Project acquired the microfiche from the Bundesarchiv, Germany, in 1999 and 2002. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the microfiche in Apr. 1999 and May 2002.
Scope and Content
Contains files relating to the surveillance and persecution of leftist political parties and their organs, and labor unions; the control of the press and literature; the combat against and the destruction of anti-Nazi organizations in the occupied and annexed territories and the treatment of prisoners of war and foreign laborers; and the persecution of Jews. Also includes documents of organizational orders and decrees relating to the Sicherheitspolizei, opinion and situation reports of the SD from 1938 to 1944, activity reports for the USSR from 1941 to 1942, and SD reports on the political and economic situation in areas outside Germany.
