United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, RG-14.001M / Main Commission for the Investigation of Crimes Against the Polish Nation - Institute of National Memory, 55

The Geheime Staatspolizeistelle in Düsseldorf, Germany created case files on individuals before and during the Holocaust. These case files are found in the Record Group 55, of the Main Commission archives, in Poland. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives requested a sampling of the case files from the archives of the Main Commission.

Scope and Content

Consists of case files individual Poles, both Christians and Jews, who were working in Germany and accused of crimes against the Third Reich in and near Düsseldorf, Germany. Includes information about arrests and imprisonment; movement of transient labor between Germany and Poland; alleged criminal acts; confiscation of Jewish property; and persecution of Poles and communists.
