Biographical History
Mülli, Albert (February 11, 1916 - April 12, 1997). Born in Zürich-Aussersihl; 1931-1934 apprenticeship as heating engineer, followed by a long period of unemployment. Active member of the workers' movement: member of the "Roten Falken" ("Red Falcons") Socialist youth organization; the Socialist youth movement Schweizer Arbeiterjugend (SAJ), group "Viktor Adler;" member of the managing board and president of the Zürcher Metallarbeiterjugend (SMUV); 1934 member of the Socialist Party Zurich (Section Aussersihl). As member of the SAJ active in Nazi resistance activities: 1938 secret courier mission to Vienna; Nov. 1938 arrest in Vienna by the Gestapo; 1938-1940 imprisonment and conviction to three years of prison because of high treason; 1940/41 imprisonment in Stein an der Donau; 1942-1945 despite the intervention of Swiss government agencies political prisoner in Dachau; several transfers including to the external commando "Lebensborn" in Munich; liberation at the end of April 1945 by American troops. May 1945 Return to Zurich; 1946-1981 municipal employee of the City of Zurich; 1963-1967 Kantonsrat (SP) in Zurich und active trade unionist.
