Biographical History
Based on the decision of the 1st Vienna Arbitration the city of Nové Zámky was occupied by the Hungarian Army on 3 November 1938. After the interim military administration period the civil administration began to work in the city. The change in the city's self-government took place on July 15, 1939. Based on the legal article no. 34/1938 the Hungarian Government issued Regulation No. 6460/1939, according to which the Nové Zámky became a county town, a town with the established municipality. The documents from the municipality's activities have been little preserved since the city center was bombed on 14 March 1945, which destroyed a significant part of municipality documents.
