Biographical History
During the Nazi occupation from 1941-1944 the Financial Director General was established as a local Latvian self-government and acted under control of the Commissar General in Riga. The chiefs of Direction were appointed by the Commissar General in Riga. The Financial Director General was Janis Skujevics.
Archival History
Records were received at the archives as captured materials; others were received in 1947 from the Ministry of Finances of the Latvian Socialist Republic. Some inventories were compiled at the archives; some were received from the Ministry of Finances. The files are arranged according to subject or chronology; personal files are alphabetical.
Scope and Content
Jewish property: lists of belongings, mostly of Jews who were deported on June 14, 1941; registration of Jewish property.
