Biographical History
The Court of First Instance in Xanthi was founded in 1920, after the liberation of the city.
Archival History
The pre-war archives of the Court of First Instance in Xanthi were destroyed during the Bulgarian Occupation (1941-1944).
Acquisition
The Courts are obliged to transfer archives which not in use to the General State Archives.
Scope and Content
The files are relevant to the Bulgarian occupation, war crimes, Greek collaborators, war trials and Bulgarian reparations.
Conditions Governing Access
The material of the Court Archives is available to researchers and the public according to the provisions of the Data Protection Act (the Greek Law 2472/1997).

Copies are available and are issued by employees of the General State Archives. Ratified copies of archival material are available upon application.
