Archival History
The pre-war archives of the Court of First Instance in Kavala were destroyed during the Bulgarian Occupation (1941 1944).
Acquisition
The Courts are obliged to transfer their archives which are not in use to the General State Archives.
Scope and Content
Some proceedings and decisions relate to the Jews of Kavala before and after the Holocaust. Post-war cases generally concern death certificates and property issues.

The material of the Court Archives is available to researchers and the public according to the provisions of the Law “General State Archives and other provisions” (the Law 1946/1991) and the Data Protection Act (the Law 2472/1997).

Copies are available and are issued by employees. Ratified copies of the archival material are available via application.
