The Law on the Status of Jews of 3 October 1940 was published in the Official Gazette of Algeria on 29 October 1940. However, this was preceded by the publication, on 18 October, of the Law of 7 October 1940, which established the status of indigenous Jews in the départements of Algeria. The Act of 2 June 1941, published in the Official Gazette of Algeria on 27 June 1941, replaced the Act of 3 October 1940. The Law of 18 February 1942, published in the Official Gazette of Algeria on 3 March 1942, replaced the Laws of 7 and 11 October 1940. The Ordinance of 14 March 1943 revoked the civil status of Jews: "Any distinction based on the status of Jews in civil life, access to and practice of professions, attendance at educational establishments of any kind, shall be abolished" (Article 1).

La loi portant statut des Juifs du 3 octobre 1940 est publiée au Journal officiel de l’Algérie le 29 octobre 1940. Celle-ci est cependant précédée par la publication, le 18 octobre, de la loi du 7 octobre 1940 fixant le statut des Juifs indigènes des départements de l’Algérie. La loi du 2 juin 1941, parue au Journal officiel de l’Algérie le 27 juin 1941, remplace la loi du 3 octobre 1940. La loi du 18 février 1942, parue au Journal officiel de l’Algérie le 3 mars 1942, remplace les lois des 7 et 11 octobre 1940. L’ordonnance du 14 mars 1943 met fin au statut des Juifs : « Toute distinction fondée sur la qualité de juif dans l’état civil, l’accès et l’exercice des professions, la fréquentation des établissements scolaires de tout ordre est abolie » (article 1).
