Amtsgericht (District Court) of Duchcov
Extent and Medium
3,30 linear meters
Acquisition
The fonds was, until 1960, stored in the court building in Duchcov, from where it was transferred, after the abolition of the court, to the regional court registry in Bilina. It was taken over by the State Archives in Litomerice in 1967, being arranged in January of 1968. The inventory was carried out in 1987.
Scope and Content
The fonds includes documents of the court functioning in the territory of the judicial district of Duchcov in 1938-1945. The files from 1941, labelled Cs, include reports on Jews who did not respect the Nazi order to use names of Israel and Sara in addition to their own names (inv. No. 9). Information can also be expected in the following files: Civil disputes 1938-1942 (inv. No. 4), Forced administration of property 1938-1944 (inv. No. 7), Private lawsuits 1940-1941 (inv. No. 8), and Criminal offenses 1940- 1945 (inv. No. 10).
System of Arrangement
The fonds consists of files that are preceded by registry finding aids from 1939-1945. The files are divided into the civil and criminal agendas. There is a separate group of materials concerning the inheritance court where the register and fragments of files have been preserved. Official books, general and collecting files have not been preserved at all.
