Židovské osídlení je v Bechyni doloženo od 16. století, od 17. století existovala židovská obec, která zanikla za 2. světové války.
Acquisition
Archiválie se dostaly do židovského muzea v Praze za druhé světové války v rámci svozů historicky cenných předmětů a písemností zrušených židovských náboženských obcí Čech a Moravy.
Scope and Content
Fond tvoří zápisy ze schůzí, zlomky spisového materiálu obce, finanční agenda, kniha synagogálních sedadel a hazkara. Většina zachovaného materiálu pochází z přelomu 19. a 20. století. Výjimku tvoří pouze kniha sedadel, která obsahuje zápisy z 1. poloviny 19. století. Do období 2. světové války zasahuje hazkara, vedená až do roku 1940 (pouze jeden pamětní zápis).

Biographical History
The Jewish settlement in Bechyně is documented from the 16th century, the Jewish Community was founded in the 17th century and destroyed during the WWII.
Acquisition
The documents were taken to the Jewish Museum as part of the wartime shipment of artefacts and documents from Jewish Religious Communities liquidated during the WWII.
Scope and Content
The fonds includes meetings minutes, fragments of community files, financial files, synagogue seats register and book of Hazkarot. Most of the preserved documents come from the end of the 19th and from the beginning of the 20th century, the synagogue seats register only includes records from the first half of the 19th century. The book of Hazkarot reaches the time of the WWII in its records as it was kept to 1940 (only one commemorative record).
