Correspondence regarding the donation of a piece of tattooed human skin to The Wiener Library. According to the donor, who had obtained it by the minister of justice of Luxemburg in 1945, the piece was one of four items used by a Ms. Koch to produce a lampshade in Dachau concentration camp.

Containing handwritten and typewritten letters the correspondence deals with two main subjects. One concerns German physician Georg August Weltz, who was tried, but not sentenced at the Nuremberg Medical Trial for experiments with inmates of Dachau concentration camp. The other one comprises numerous information requests on events and figures related to the Weimar Republic or the Third Reich. In order to complete her memoirs Castonier needed to clarify various details from these periods.

Heilbrunner's account of life in Dachau, 1933, is a typescript memoir of Jewish inmate, Heilbrunner, in 1933. Written in the form of a narrative in the first person; structured into four chapters, describes in some detail the conditions in the camp and the brutality of the camp guards, contains manuscript annotations and corrections.

This collection contains a photocopy of Ludwig Steiner's release permit ('Entlassungsschein') from Dachau concentration camp. Due to his Jewish background Steiner was arrested and spent one year at Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg and later Dachau concentration camp before being released mortally ill in September 1940.
