Mandates/Sources of Authority

As follows from its Statute, the State Archive of Lviv Oblast is a structural subdivision of Lviv Oblast State Administration, accountable and subordinate to its head and the State Committee for Archives of Ukraine.

SALO carries organizational-methodological and scientific supervision of the work of 20 archives departments of district state administrations and 8 archives of the towns of Lviv oblast.

Archival and Other Holdings

State Archives of Lviv Oblast today contains: 5106 funds, 2425792 units of storage, 34279 linear meters of shelves, 12624 descriptions, 66732 books and brochures, 2145912 catalog cards

Finding Aids, Guides, and Publication

Scientific-reference apparatus of the archives consists of descriptions of documents, systematic, topical, geographical, name catalogues, reference card index, community of researchers.

Opening Times

Working hours of the archives are from 09:00 A.M. to 06:00 P.M., lunch break from 01:00 P.M. to 01:45 P.M. Working hours before holidays and Sundays are from 09:00 A.M. to 16:45 P.M. Reading halls are closed for visitors every last working day of each month; August is a vacation month.
