Государственный архив новейшей истории Калининградской области

State Archive of Contemporary History of Kaliningrad Oblast was established in 1991, on the basis of the former regional branch of the Communist Party Archive.

Communist Party Archive of the Kaliningrad Oblast was established in 1949. From its very beginning it collected documents from all of the Communist Party and Komsomol institutions from the region. In 2019 the State Archive of the Contemporary History of Kaliningrad Oblast ceased to exist, being united with the Kaliningrad Oblast State Archive

Archive was holding documents collection referring to the post-1945 history of the Kaliningrad City and Kaliningrad region.

Archive was operating on the basis of the decree of Ministry of Culture of the Kaliningrad Oblast from 26 January 2007, No. 6.
