The archive in Radzyń Podlaski came into existence in 1976 according to the Order of Chief-Director of State Archives as a branch of Voivodship State Archive in Lublin In 1984 it was renamed the branch of Lublin State Archive

Nowadays. The branch of Lublin State Archive in Radzyń Podlaski works on the ground of the Act on National Archival Records and Archives of July 14, 1983, Journal of Law (Dziennik Ustaw) No 38, 1983.07.19 with later changes.
Building(s)
The Archive was located in Potocki Palace at Międzyrzecka (Jana Pawła II) street. In September 2010 it was relocated to the new building at gen. Kleeberga street.

The archive in Radzyń Podlaski possesses the resources of the former County State Archive in Łuków, liquidated in 1976. The holdings of Radzyń Podlaski archive consists of 19th and 20th century documents: 640 collections and archival founds, which makes 120 913 units and 1200 running meters. The documents are mostly concerning state and local administration, special administration (statistical offices and revenue offices), charitable organization (RGO), judiciary, schools, trade unions and political parties.

The archive's holdings are available in the workroom open Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday 9.00 - 15.00, Wednesday 9.00 - 18.00.

The access is regulated by Instruction No. 4 of the Head Office of State Archives in Poland, dated February 1, 2013.
